I don't want to spend a fortune but want to keep the same level standard of graphics.
if replacing with either 430 or 450, would my current PSU for 8800 gts sufficient?
PSU from what i remember is 600W-800W
also my motherboard's PCIe x16 is not 2.0

The 6770 is better than the GTS 450 and costs just the same.
Power consumption is also better due to the smaller fabrication used.
You only need 450 watts for the 6770.
